The Stack Explained: Claudeforce, Agentforce, AIforce, and Slackbot

Claudeforce. Agentforce. AIforce. Slackbot.

Engines, environments, technological introductions.

With the news of the Anthropic and Salesforce partnership, we are here to break it all down for you.

Start Here: What Is Salesforce?

Starting with the foundation.

Salesforce is a platform that stores and organizes data about the people your organization serves. For a nonprofit, that is donors and program participants. For a university, that is students and alumni. For a credit union, that is members. For a government agency, that is the public.

Beyond storage, Salesforce connects your teams, automates workflows, and tracks every interaction across every channel. It is the foundation on which everything else in this stack runs.

Think of Salesforce as an airport. It manages arrivals, departures, passenger records, gates, and ground operations. Everything else operates inside it.

What Is Agentforce?

Agentforce is Salesforce’s platform for building AI agents: automated workers that operate inside your Salesforce environment and take action on your behalf.

These agents reason, respond, route, and act. A member support agent at a credit union can answer loan status questions at 11 pm without a staff member being online. A student success agent at a university can flag at-risk students and trigger outreach before a counselor sees the data.

What this looks like across Cloud for Good’s industries: A nonprofit gift officer gets a complete donor profile surfaced before a meeting, with lapsed donors flagged and a draft outreach message ready to review. A university advisor receives an automatic alert when a student shows multiple at-risk signals, with a suggested outreach already drafted. A credit union member support agent answers loan status questions and schedules appointments at 11pm without any staff member online. A government caseworker gets routine status inquiry responses handled automatically, freeing their time for cases that require human judgment.

At our airport, Agentforce is the ground crew. They handle operations, follow protocols, and keep things moving.

What Is Claudeforce?

Claudeforce is the official name for the partnership between Anthropic and Salesforce. It brings your Salesforce data, workflows, and permissions into Claude, so teams can work with live organizational data without opening Salesforce.

Claude also works as one of the models behind Agentforce agents operating inside Salesforce, through Amazon Bedrock and within the Salesforce Trust Boundary. Anthropic is the first LLM provider fully integrated within it, keeping data and AI workloads secure for regulated industries including financial services, healthcare, cybersecurity, and life sciences. Both directions are part of the partnership.

The critical detail: the headline product of ClaudeForce is Salesforce coming into Claude. The Salesforce in Claude plugin ships with 37 pre-built skills, governed by your existing Salesforce permissions and business rules. Your data does not move. The AI reasoning comes to it. The open beta launched September 15, 2026 and is now available on all paid Claude plans. This removes a significant barrier for healthcare, financial services, and government organizations that have previously hesitated to evaluate AI given their data risks.

What this looks like across Cloud for Good’s industries: A fundraising manager uses the call prep skill to brief on a major donor’s full history before a meeting. A student advisor uses the summarization skill to work through a caseload of hundreds without losing context on any one student. A credit union relationship manager uses pipeline review logic to identify members at risk of leaving. A caseworker uses activity logging to document case progress without switching between systems.

Back to the airport: if Agentforce is the ground crew, Claude is the air traffic controller. It reads everything in the system, reasons across it, and coordinates what happens next. The crew acts. The controller ensures every action is the right one.

What Is AIforce?

AIforce is Salesforce‘s live interface layer, announced at Dreamforce 2026. It brings Salesforce’s data, workflows, business logic, permissions, and governance to wherever people and agents already work. Benioff put it plainly at the keynote: Salesforce’s product was never the screen. It is the trust customers place in Salesforce to hold their data, their processes, and their permissions. AIforce is what happens when you take that trusted foundation and make it accessible through any AI interface.

AIforce launches with three surfaces: Claudeforce, which puts Salesforce into Claude; Slackforce, which puts Salesforce into Slack; and Agentforce Coworker, an AI teammate inside the Lightning interface. A Headless Toolkit within AIforce gives developers the ability to build additional custom AI-connected experiences.

Traditional software has a fixed front door: a portal, a screen, a login page. Every user has to go to the same place to get anything done.

AIforce removes that fixed front door. Salesforce’s data, business logic, and permissions reach people through whichever interface they already use: a text message, a chat window, a phone call, or directly through an LLM. The system meets them where they are, governed by the same permissions and rules as always.

The connection runs through a secure MCP (Model Context Protocol) integration, an open standard that makes Salesforce’s full platform callable by AI. Records, business logic, workflow rules, and user permissions all become accessible through whichever surface someone opens. No custom integration work required.

What this looks like in practice: A constituent texts a question about their case status. The agent reads the Salesforce record, responds with a live update, and logs the interaction, all without a staff member touching it and without the constituent visiting any portal or downloading any app. A student messages through whichever chat tool they already use. The agent pulls their enrollment record from Salesforce and responds in context. The student never knows which system answered them. They just got an answer.

In the airport, the ground crew (Agentforce) does not work only at one gate. That is because the airport has no fixed front entrance (AIforce). There is no single door that every passenger must walk through. The crew meets them on the tarmac, at the gate, at baggage claim, wherever they already are.

What Is Slackbot?

Slack is where your team communicates. With Dreamforce 2026, it became something more. Salesforce announced Slackforce: Salesforce’s data, actions, and workflows brought directly into Slack, alongside a reimagined Slackbot.

Claude and Slack are now integrated in both directions. Your staff can ask questions about your Salesforce data directly inside Slack without opening Salesforce. A fundraising manager can ask which donors gave last year but have not given this year and get an answer in their Slack channel. No report to pull. No login required.

Slackbot serves as a personal productivity agent built directly into Slack. It understands your team’s context, respects your permissions, and can find answers, organize work, schedule meetings, and surface recommendations without anyone switching applications.

Claude Tag, part of the Claudeforce partnership, acts as an AI teammate inside Slack channels. It handles collaborative tasks, remembers channel context, and automates workflows directly inside team threads. Agentforce agents can also surface updates, alerts, and recommended actions to your team through Slack, without requiring anyone to change the tool they already use.

In the airport, Slack is the radio. It is how the crew (Agentforce) coordinates, receives updates from the controller (Claude), and escalates without leaving their post.

How the Stack Works Together

Here is the full picture in one sequence.

A constituent, student, member, or donor interacts with your organization through any channel. That interaction is captured in Salesforce (the airport). An Agentforce agent (the ground crew) picks it up. Claude (the air traffic controller) reasons over the data, the context, and the appropriate action. The agent responds, routes, or escalates. Your team gets notified via Slackbot (the radio) if a human decision is needed. All of this happens within Salesforce’s governed environment, across any channel, without manual intervention at every step.

The airport keeps running. The crew handles operations. The controller coordinates. The radio keeps everyone informed. When something needs a human call, the right person gets it immediately.

Where Cloud for Good Comes In

Cloud for Good holds three Salesforce designations that reflect exactly what this stack demands: Zero Copy Partner Network, Forward Deployed Engineering, and Headless 360 Partner. Across more than 3,000 implementations serving nonprofits, higher education institutions, credit unions, and government agencies, we know where the data readiness gaps sit, which use cases earn internal trust early, and what the implementation conversation looks like in a regulated environment

We start with the outcome your organization needs and build the most direct path to get there. The technology is the means. Your mission is the measure.
