Cloud for Good is seeking an exceptional technical pre-sales leader to join the team as our Director of Solution Engineering. The Director will be responsible for leading and scaling Cloud for Good’s Solution Engineering function, ensuring prospective and current clients receive strategic, consultative, and technically sound guidance throughout the pre-sales process.
This leader will manage a team of Solution Engineers and serve as a senior technical advisor across strategic sales opportunities. The Director will partner closely with Sales, Services, Marketing, Alliances, and Executive Leadership to support customer acquisition, expansion opportunities, solution strategy, technical demonstrations, RFP responses, and high-quality transitions from sales to delivery.
The Director will be responsible for building a high-performing Solution Engineering team, continuously improving pre-sales processes, supporting accurate solution scoping and estimation, and ensuring the team effectively translates client challenges into practical solutions on the Salesforce Platform.
The Director will report to the VP of Revenue Operations.
Successful candidates will have strong experience in Salesforce pre-sales, solution consulting, technical sales, or professional services sales support. They will be proven people leaders with the ability to coach and develop Sales Engineers, lead complex client conversations, support strategic pursuits, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth consulting environment.

Skills, Qualifications, and Education Requirements
- Senior Solution Engineering, Solution Consulting, Solution Architect or technical pre-sales leadership experience
- Experience leading and developing Solution Engineers or similar professionals
- Strong understanding of the Salesforce Platform and how Salesforce solutions support business transformation, process improvement, and organizational outcomes for Non-Profits, Education, Financial Institutions and State & Local Government
- Strategic thinker who provides thought leadership and industry experience
- Ability to act as a senior technical advisor during client-facing conversations with technical stakeholders, business leaders, and C-level executives
- Experience developing and reviewing pre-sales deliverables, including architectural diagrams, workflows, solution narratives, hours estimate, project timelines, implementation assumptions, and technical documentation
- Strong experience supporting RFIs, RFPs, oral presentations, demonstrations, discovery sessions, scoping conversations, and strategic sales pursuits
- Ability and comfort operating in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
- Strong commercial judgment and ability to balance sales strategy, client needs, technical feasibility, delivery realism, and business value
Main Responsibilities
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of Solution Engineers by providing guidance, support, coaching, and constructive feedback to maximize performance and professional growth
- Set and execute a pre-sales growth strategy focused on outcomes-based selling in partnership with the VP of Revenue Operations
- Be accountable for the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of Solution Engineering support across new business, existing business, expansion opportunities, and strategic pursuits
- Serve as a senior technical advisor during complex or high-value prospective client interactions throughout the pre-sales process including
- Ensure Solution Engineers provide accurate level-of-effort estimates, realistic project scope recommendations, and commercially sound solution guidance.
- Partner closely with Services and Delivery teams to validate solution approaches, delivery assumptions, project scope, timelines, staffing needs, and implementation feasibility
- Provide leadership visibility into Solution Engineering activity, team capacity, pursuit risks, solution trends, and areas for operational improvement
- Manage Salesforce demo org environments used by the Sales Engineering team, ensuring they are current, reliable, compelling, and aligned to priority industries, solutions, and sales motions
- Lead RFP team, ensuring standards and best practices for the RFP process and win rate

- Travel Requirements
- All roles at Cloud for Good include a travel component. Business travel—both domestic and international—may be required based on project and client needs. The amount of travel will vary by role but is generally expected to be up to 30% annually. Travel is considered an essential part of this position and supports effective client engagement, collaboration, and company representation.

- Cloud for Good is a fully remote company. Team members are expected to maintain a professional, distraction-free workspace that is camera-ready for video meetings. Collaboration takes place across Zoom, Office 365, Salesforce, and Slack during standard business hours (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. in your local time zone).
