Tips to Getting the Most From This Virtual Event
Tip 1: Take advantage of this being a FREE virtual event.
There are six different tracks that you can choose from for the Education Summit, including Increase Recruitment & Admissions, Student Experience, Advancement, Digital Transformation, Institution Operations, and Marketing. You can, of course, mix and match to create your own customized experience, but it may be wise to ask colleagues from other departments to join the event and attend sessions on a different track than yours.
Tip 2: Get Involved
During the event, you will want to make sure you are interacting as much as possible. We rarely get to see so many of our peers, industry leaders, and subject matter experts in one spot. And Salesforce.org has made a ton of investments to make sure this event is engaging and provides a great user experience for all attendees. Do not be afraid to ask questions, network, or interact with your peers in the chat or designated networking areas. Make sure to use all of the other features that the platform has to offer.
Tip 3: Keep the Momentum Going
Once the event concludes, you should try and meet with your team and other departments who attended the event to share knowledge and brainstorm ways you can implement those best practices into your organization.
Follow Cloud for Good, Salesforce, and other speakers on LinkedIn or Twitter to keep the conversation going. You can also sign up for Trailhead – a gamified approach to learning Salesforce. It will help you learn more about the products you’ve just heard about in a much more technical way.
How You Can Find Cloud for Good
Cloud for Good will be sponsoring the event as a Platinum sponsor. This means there are a few ways you can engage with us at the Summit. Booths and agenda builder will be going live in early June, but until then here are some things to get excited for!

UAB’s digital transformation took another step forward in the 2020-2021 academic year by migrating from a managed package for Recruitment & Admissions to an EDA-centric Salesforce.org with Marketing Cloud. UAB partnered with Cloud for Good to implement processes for the entire Recruitment & Admissions funnel from lead to census day, including Application Review, Online Application Portal, Recruitment & Orientation Events, Live Chat, SMS, and more. Their usage of platform-first solutions, enhanced with AppExchange products, has created a best-in-breed solution and approach to recruitment and admission. The solution was UAB’s second step in realizing a full connected campus vision with a Marketing Cloud implementation in early 2020. - Massachusetts Institute of Technology: David Perry Excellence in Innovation
Driven by an initial marketing automation project with Marketing Cloud, MIT Sloan Executive Education (MSEE) underwent a complete digital transformation with their move to the Salesforce platform for nearly every aspect of MSEE business. In partnership with Cloud for Good, MSEE took an innovative and collaborative approach to this implementation, including the first Commerce Cloud implementation for Higher Education and integration with Education Data Architecture (EDA), in-depth integration work with MuleSoft, and the use of Experience Cloud for coursework engagement.MSEE looked to revolutionize the executive education experience with an updated e-commerce shopping experience and course sites with access to schedules, faculty bios, course materials, and more, all updated in real-time with Salesforce data. Participants can now attend courses, view certificates, and purchase their next course all with the power of Salesforce, helping them reach their educational goals. This competitive approach to executive education both reduced times spent on checkout and empowered executive learners with self-service options through Experience Cloud.
- San Diego County Office of Education: Excellence in Career and College Prep
SDCOE implemented Education Cloud in the 2019-2020 school year for data and partnership management for its career readiness programs. Using Salesforce created many efficiencies in tracking data from hundreds of activities and training and organizing their communications with employers, which allowed their team to quickly pivot to distance learning during the pandemic. Despite the challenges of remote work, their programs for 2020-2021 have served over 7,000 students and educators across 200+ activities and training, a 25% increase from last year. Additionally, SDCOE has used the data collected through Education Cloud to allocate their resources to the regions and populations that need them most, improving education outcomes for their students.
