Client

Through its programs, training, consultation and online community, Coming of Age helps people 50+ make rewarding transitions to the next phase of life by providing pathways to explore passions, plan for the future, become community leaders, pursue lifelong learning and engage in meaningful service.

Challenges

  • The new Bay Area branch needed a cost-effective solution that could be quickly rolled out and easily expanded.
  • The organization has a small staff that engages with thousands of individuals and organizations. Therefore, they wanted a centralized database that would help manage relationships with all constituents – participants, members, volunteers, and donors.
  • Coming of Age needed to streamline workshop registration and efficiently track attendance to various meetings.

Solution

  • Considered building a solution with Drupal, but chose Cloud for Good and the Force.com cloud platform’s rapid development and deployment.
  • Cloud for Good built a custom workshop application in just two weeks to manage workshops, meetings, facilities, and facilitators; after completion of each meeting, facilitators can easily track attendance on a tailored VisualForce page.
  • Available workshops are published directly from Salesforce to a mini Salesforce Site. Upon submission of the online enrollment form, personalized emails are automatically emailed to the participants.
  • Lead assignment and auto-response emails are integrated with web-to-lead forms on the organization’s website to improve their outreach efforts and membership registration.
  • Consolidated participant, member, volunteer, and donor information in a centralized database that include all data from all stages of the constituents’ lifecycle – from program enrollment to participation to post program outcomes and donor cultivation.

Results

  • Centralized database helps employees be more efficient and successful at their jobs and provide better service to participants and key constituents.
  • Complete, real-time information about workshop registration and attendance improves planning and decision-making.
  • Salesforce CRM Marketing enables measurable ROI and data segmentation for effective, targeted marketing campaigns.
  • Scalable solution can be easily expanded as the organization grows.
