Our Founder and CEO, Tal Frankfurt has a powerful and unique entrepreneurial story. Last week, he shared our culture and impact as well as his own journey with Ursula Jorch on the Work Alchemy podcast series, The Impact Interviews.
Tal is what one may call an “accidental techie”. Before founding Cloud for Good in 2010, he was the Director of Resource Development with a nonprofit working to serve at-risk immigrant youth. In search of tools to better manage donors, volunteers and those they served, he discovered Salesforce. His organization could not afford an implementation partner, never mind find one that spoke the language of nonprofits. Tal then self-implemented Salesforce, founded the 2nd Salesforce nonprofit user group outside of the U.S. and before he knew it, had founded his own company. He started Cloud for Good because there was a need.
In the interview, Tal shares that we are “a culture of people that are very passionate about each other, about our customer’s missions and about the technology we implement.” As a virtual company, we meet via video chat several times a week and have built relationships often stronger than those made in traditional office settings. Our passion continues outside of the office, as we volunteer 1% of our time via our Social Responsibility Program.
