The model and methods he created are now employed by dozens of charities and have raised in excess of $1.5 billion more for important causes from pediatric leukemia to AIDS to suicide prevention and many others. Dan’s newest book is, “The Everyday Philanthropist: A Better Way to Make a Better World,” a pocket guide designed to change giving perspectives for donors of all ages and abilities. The Stanford Social Innovation Review said that the book, “deserves to become the nonprofit sector ’s new manifesto.”
Dan’s latest project is the movie “Uncharitable.” Driven by the poignant, personal stories of Dan, Steve Nardizzi, Dorri McWhorter, Scott Harrison, Edward Norton, Darren Walker and other prominent figures in philanthropy, Uncharitable delivers an emotional journey that moves, persuades and inspires its audience to change the way we think about giving.
