Public Sector Keynote at Dreamforce 2025: What You Need to Know

Blog: Public Sector Keynote at Dreamforce 2025: What You Need to Know

On day two of Dreamforce 2025, Cloud for Good’s public sector team gathered with fellow public sector leaders and Trailblazers for a transformative keynote on the agentic future of government services and the public sector. The central message was clear: the future of public service is an agentic one; and it’s here. Led by a team of Salesforce executives, the public sector keynote at Dreamforce 2025 unveiled a bold vision to help public sector organizations and government agencies meet their mandate with the launch of new public sector solutions from Salesforce under its Agentic Enterprise model: Agentforce 360 for Public Sector, Agentforce Public Sector, and Salesforce Missionforce. Here’s what you need to know.

The Agentic Revolution: Reimagining Public Sector with Agentic AI

The public sector keynote addressed the persistent challenges facing the public sector—capped headcount, trapped, siloed data, manual processes to connect data, limited views, and the continued reliance on paper and mainframes for mission-critical work. These challenges create barriers that often lead to long wait times for constituents, frustration, and a lack of trust. The solution Salesforce presented for these challenges was not incremental change, but a fundamental shift that they dub the “agentic revolution”, in which agentic AI like Agentforce enhances public sector functions and services with AI agents to deliver better services to constituents without higher costs, connect data, eliminate data siloes. The agentic revolution in the public sector also reimagines government agencies as agentic governments, which are responsive, scalable, efficient, reliable, and secure—allowing them to deliver better, more trusted services to constituents.

A critical point was emphasized throughout: agents are not meant to replace people, but to multiply them. By delegating repetitive, administrative tasks to AI agents, public servants can focus more on mission-critical work that requires human oversight and actions. As an example shared from the City of Barcelona, one of Salesforce’s clients, a benefits processing task that currently takes 200 days could be reduced to just a few hours with Agentforce, representing a “life-changing shift” for citizens.

Product Announcements

To help governments and public service organizations meet this mandate of leveraging agentic AI to do more with less for their constituents, Salesforce announced several new solutions: Agentforce 360 for Public Sector, Agentforce Public Sector, and Missionforce.

Agentforce 360 for Public Sector

Agentforce 360 for Public Sector is a new solution in General Availability (GA) that is designed to help government meet mandates. Built with the Agentforce 360 Platform, which is Salesforce’s latest evolution of Agentforce, Agentforce 360 for Public Sector helps government organizations build capacity, drive efficiency, and create trust with public servants, agents, apps, and data. Additionally, it is designed with trust at the center, a deeply unified platform, is easy to use, does not require code, and is orchestrated.

Salesforce also announced the general availability (GA) of Agentforce Public Sector, a next-generation layer of the Salesforce Platform for deploying public sector AI agents. Built specifically for the public sector, Agentforce Public Sector is:

  • Deeply Data-Driven: It connects both structured and unstructured data to ensure every action is based on a complete picture.
  • Conversational: It moves beyond frustrating, unhelpful chatbots to provide constituents with 24/7 expert support to file complaints or apply for services.
  • Ready-to-Use: The platform requires no code and comes with out-of-the-box templates, agentic workflows, and dedicated apps to help agencies meet their mandate quickly.

Key capabilities of Agentforce Public Sector that are in GA Now were also announced at the keynote:

  • Answer FAQ with Policy Doc
  • Application Screening
  • Regulatory Compliance
  • Complaint Intake
  • Complaint Resolution
  • Benefit Queries

Salesforce Missionforce

Another significant announcement made by Salesforce leaders (with some help from actor and Salesforce brand partner Matthew McConaughey) during the public sector keynote was Missionforce, a new platform and program that represents Salesforce’s doubled-down commitment to first responders, veterans, national security, and other organizations in the Defense space. The initiative was born from a direct request from national security customers for Salesforce to “do more”. Missionforce is designed to bring the best innovations of the private sector to those who serve in defense, extending greater AI capabilities, resiliency, and security to the Government Cloud platform.

Public Sector Technology Built With Trust and Global Compliance

Underpinning these announcements was Salesforce’s focus on trust, compliance, and a robust technology stack for the public sector. Agentforce Public Sector’s platform is built on Salesforce Government Cloud, with Data 360 (the new name for Data Cloud) and MuleSoft enabling agencies to connect data across disparate systems like data lakes, airlines, and external platforms without needing to move or copy it. This “zero copy integration” dramatically reduces integration time, cost, and risk.

Additionally, Salesforce leaders shared that Agentforce Public Sector is designed with global compliance. This means that Agentforce Public Sector can be utilized across various countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Spain, and Japan.
