CTO | Applied AI Expert | Presidential Innovation Fellow @ NASA

James is an accomplished CTO and innovator dedicated to fostering positive social change through engineering and applied artificial intelligence. As the Presidential Innovation Fellow for NASA Aeronautics, James is helping develop sustainable, next-generation aviation and AI solutions. On behalf of NASA, he co-hosts the Ecosystemic Futures podcast which delves into technological advancements poised to shape the future of society. Prior to his role at NASA, James served as a tech executive and advisor for various startups, spanning healthcare, cryptography, workplace equity, and online education. James brings a wealth of experience in policy and portfolio management, having worked in Washington, DC at the White House, DOJ, and DOD.

Kelly Kitchen

Area Vice President, Salesforce

Kelly Kitchen, Area Vice President at Salesforce, leads the distribution team for Higher Education covering the eastern half of the country. During her 12-year career with Salesforce, she has been an individual contributor, an RVP serving multiple industries and clouds and since 2018, and an AVP for Higher Education. She has spent her career either in direct sales or in sales strategy/operations with Siebel, Oracle, Lexis Nexis, regional tech companies, and start-ups. She is a first-generation student with a BA from Western Kentucky University and an MBA from the University of Louisville. She has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Louisville and currently serves on the board for Girls on the Run Kentuckiana and as a court-appointed special advocate (CASA) with CASA River Region. She is a proud mom of grown twins who graduated from the University of Kentucky and from Vanderbilt University.

He serves on the Salesforce Partner Advisory Board and shares his insights through articles for the Forbes Technology Council and Entrepreneur Magazine.

Wesley Esser

Chief Information Officer, MIT Sloan School of Management

Wes Esser is an IT professional with 25 years of experience in higher education. He has been at the MIT Sloan School of Management for 15 years, in the role of CIO for the last four years. He leads a team of 38 who provide a wide range of technology solutions and services to support the research and educational mission of the Sloan School. Areas of professional interest include the technical evolution of the classroom, the development of the academic workplace of the future, and the importance of contextual technology training. Prior to joining MIT Sloan in 2006, he spent four years at Babson College and more than five years at Northeastern University managing technology support and implementation.
