The Sales Engineer will support our Nonprofit practice as we help mission-driven organizations transform the way they adopt, implement, and fully leverage the Salesforce Platform to increase impact and improve constituent engagement.
As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the Sales team in pre-sales activities.
Location: Virtual, home office in US or Canada
Work Authorization: Citizens or Permanent Residents of USA or Canada. Cannot provide Visa sponsorship.
Travel: Maximum 20%
Main Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted technical advisor in pre-sales engagements with nonprofit organizations.
- Seek to understand clients’ challenges, programs, fundraising goals, and data needs — and translate them into effective Salesforce solutions.
- Lead client-facing conversations, including nonprofit program managers, fundraisers, IT teams, and C-level executives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders from the Sales, Services, and Marketing teams.
- Identify and understand project scope, requirements, and potential risks while supporting high-level architecture and level of effort estimates.
- Support creation of pre-sales deliverables, including discovery summaries, demo orgs, and solution diagrams.
- Design and deliver custom, high-impact Salesforce demonstrations tailored to nonprofit use cases.
- Manage multiple pre-sales efforts concurrently, supporting both net-new and existing clients in partnership with Account Executives.
- Engage with Salesforce.org and ISV partners to align tools and apps that meet nonprofit-specific needs.
- Contribute to responses for RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs.
- Participate in marketing initiatives such as webinars, blog posts, and events.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Strong experience across the Salesforce platform, including Nonprofit Cloud, Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Experience Cloud.
- Prior experience in a Sales Engineer, Solution Architect, or Salesforce implementation consultant role.
- Deep understanding or strong interest in the nonprofit sector, including fundraising, grantmaking, program delivery, volunteer engagement, and impact measurement.
- Creative problem solver with the ability to translate nonprofit needs into technical solutions.
- Experience building or demonstrating Salesforce orgs for nonprofits.
- Salesforce certifications preferred (particularly Nonprofit Cloud, Admin, and Sales Cloud).
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills.
- Comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
