The Cloud for Good Principal Consultant, Marketing Cloud is responsible for leading Salesforce Marketing Cloud or Pardot implementation projects, driving services team enablement, and contributing to pre-sales and sales support for potential clients. Successful candidates will be Marketing Cloud or Pardot experts ready to implement cutting-edge digital solutions for nonprofit or higher education clients.
The objectives of the Cloud for Good Principal Consultant are to provide excellent service and value to clients through Salesforce implementation projects as a senior functional resource, and to create a learning pathway for consultants to gain managerial and leadership skills. Specifically, Principal Consultants are responsible for:
- Managing projects and assessing client requirements to develop technical solutions
- Serving as the Engagement Manager on projects, thus ensuring project success and resolving issues and risks
- Providing sales support
- Proactively identifying opportunities to improve our practice, and subsequently designing and delivering internal projects
- Coaching and mentoring junior consultants working on the same team/vertical
Like other leadership roles at Cloud for Good, this is an outcomes-driven role. This role has a billable utilization quota and requires driving towards stated outcomes related to enablement, sales, and mentoring to be successful.
Location: Virtual, home office in US or Canada

Skills, Qualifications, and Education Requirements:
- Marketing Cloud or Pardot Consultant certification
- Strong Marketing Cloud or Pardot configuration knowledge
- Expert-level skills/knowledge in a few functional, declarative, or technical areas, and is also comfortable across other areas of Salesforce
- Experience working with nonprofits or higher education institutions
- 4+ years of experience in client services and/or consulting services
- 3+ years of experience managing Marketing Cloud or Pardot implementations or services engagements in a consultative model
- Experience in agile delivery methodology
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing professional services best practices
- Proven experience leading clients and project teams through complex solution implementations
- Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve client/project risks and issues, for multiple clients at once
- Committed to customer satisfaction
- Strong consulting skills, including project and time management, communication, and teamwork/collaboration
- Functional experience: Demonstrated success in leading a project larger than $250k
- Demonstrated success in designing and configuring complex solutions
- Proven track record of continuously improving organizations
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education/experience required
Main Responsibilities
- Lead consulting projects as an Engagement Manager (i.e., to monitor project performance, serve as an escalation point, and ensure quality delivery) or a Project Manager/Business Analyst (i.e., to manage timeline, budget, scope, and risks, as well as oversee the collection and refinement of client requirements)
- Work with clients and project teams to anticipate project risks, resolve issues, consistently meet deadlines, and achieve client satisfaction
- Gather feedback from clients and identify best practices and lessons learned from client projects to improve and refine Cloud for Good’s service delivery approach
- Serve as a digital thought leader for the nonprofit or higher education vertical
- Maintain up-to-date, accurate knowledge of Marketing Cloud and Pardot
- Provide informal mentoring and coaching to peer consultants
- Participate in pre-sales activities, in alignment with Sales and in partnership with Director, such as reviewing scopes and preparing pitch decks
- Proactively identify areas of need for internal projects and work collaboratively with teammates to deliver internal project milestones
- Assess client business requirements to design architecturally-sound solutions
- Build, test, and deploy declarative and/or technical solutions to meet client requirements when necessary
- Serve as first escalation point for clients; provide internal and external status updates; manage budget and scope; facilitate internal and external meetings; report on project status to internal leadership; monitor and mitigate project risks
- Optimize non-billable time to contribute to CFG Sales, Marketing, or Services delivery model
- Implement solutions across multiple Clouds and conduct proactive QA on team’s solutions
- Act as a role model for Cloud for Good’s culture and values
- Serve as an expert in CFG methodology and business process
- Provide feedback to CFG leadership on how the company can improve
- Deliver on project assignments on time and within budget
